Question 2015 vs 2016 - any differences ?

Ok, went to a LR dealer in Southern California and was shown both a HSE Luxury packaged top of the line 2015 Discovery Sport and a moderately optioned 2016 HSE mid level.

Both are about the same price point but had some differences:

1. The 2015 HSE Lux has the Vision Assist pkg + 19" wheels. It also had a strange CPO warranty attached to it that extended warranty another year but it was not used. It had the original 11 miles in the showroom floor which means it was used. The sales rep said it was because they decided not to make it a loaner car and keep it for sale. So it has an extra year of warranty on top of the new car warranty for a total of 5 years.

2. The 2016 HSE had the Climate comfort, Driver Assist Plus, Xenon auto level, 19" wheels, Apps, Auto High beam.

I am coming from a BMW X5 (E70) and looking for a non mushy, non disconnected ride. The Discovery Sport seemed to fit that requirement.

Which would you choose and why ?

Our early production 15 HSE Lux is very well appointed and I love how its equipped.
If I have everything understood correctly, the 2015MY and the first of the 2016 models omitted some things that a fully loaded 2015 HSE Lux has.
BUT...they are offering some new tech packages for late 2016 though that sound impressive.
Im not sure which one I would choose out of the two you describe. I would take a good look at both vehicles and completely understand what options each one has and what they do then make your decision. The options and their importance to you should be your deciding factors.

FWIW, Ive been a long time X5 fan. Test driven a few and almost pulled the trigger on one before. You are right about a non-mushy non-dissconnected ride in the DS. The DS is a pretty damn good vehicle for us so far.

Good luck!!

Thanks for your input!

It was tough choosing between the better optioned 2015 vs HSE 2016.

Finally picked her up this weekend.

My new fun to drive crossover:

White / tan HSE with 3rd row, Driver assist +, Climate Comfort, Audio upgrade:
