You aren't kidding. Well I guess the 4.6 pistons will have to stay with their rods cuz you don't have much time wild man. I hope the added motor poop makes you forget you flew over all the details when it was apart, no complaining. I don't know if the slugs and rods are numbered to where they lived on the crank (or if they even came off this crank) but I'd at least try to balance em as best as possible. The 4.6 is a jiggly running motor at best. Not the big block kind either, like a wheel weight flew off type. Reminds me of square wheels on a red wagon going too fast down hill.

Crank and rods are reconditioned pickup from machine shop this morning, why reuse 4.6 pistons? I see where others did 4.0 can and pistons, 4.6 crank and rods

Unfortunately lost 3 days doing that fridge restoration for wife and a week helping s friend move that's getting devorced so...

Just no time for new cam and bearings

I re-used my 4.0 rods and pistons. Major difference in power and performance from the stock 4.0. I did my own port/polish to the intake & heads the best I could and swapped out bearings and piston rings. Cleaned up pistons & sleeves really good. I also swapped injectors from the same 4.6 donor btw, my stock old ones were all clogged up.

Btw engine stripped to block and cleaned hope to be reassembling tomorrow, except heads at shop getting valve job I could not afford last time , all my gaskets looked great no leaks ESP head gaskets looked good

Dusty, pistons all look OK both sets, advantage to higher compression? More power?
