For $500 I'd fix the gaskets and run it into the ground.
Considering one could purchase a perfectly good Discovery for less than the price of this engine, I'd have to agree.

If it was a Defender I would do it in a heart beat. It's iconic, demand outstrips availability and just plain cool to brag on. Disco, none of that exists other than the need for fuel efficiency. A well thought out, budget conscious renew is in order to not outstrip the total package cost. Disco's are found cheaply, if your price is too high on the market most will look elsewhere not considering what the price reflects. Disco is the cheap door into the sport of LR ownership. I'm not knocking Disco's, I own one and many options over the years I've given time to but in the end it's just what it is so mine remains maintained in it's stock configuration and is a daily used transport. An XD Disco might have a chance at recouping some of the cost. Again, iconic in it's intended spirit, the CT.
