While not super familiar with the BEW or BRM PD diesels, I do know 100% that the 04/05 BHW PD motor runs just fine without the EGR connected, she just throws a CEl.
Check with Burpod on the TDI forums, his price is a little cheaper than the Malone tune and first hand reviews are much better than their stage 2.
