Hello, this is my first post. Basically I have been reading a lot about people swapping a diesel engine into these trucks. I just wanted to know if a 1980 Mercedes-Benz 300SD turbo diesel engine would work for a swap. Thank you for your time, and appreciate any replies.

Not sure if that is the exact Mercedes block you refer to. It has been done, and is not real cheap, not real easy, and can be a real hassle with some state's smog laws.
