Hi, I am in Renton and I have 2001 D2. Very interested to get this swap done.

 

Update: We got another one up and running today with our newer kit design. This has been the "budget build".

So far the specs on this setup are:
1999 Discovery 2 with ~ 112,000 miles. 4HP22 transmission.
2004 LM7 5.3L - $400
eBay LS engine harness -$315
Junkyard GM ECM - $55

eBay harness has worked okay so far. We'll be giving it a thorough test in the coming weeks.

Ace how hard is it to put a 4HP24 in a land rover that has a 4HP22 in it

 

Not difficult - it is virtually the same just a little longer, especially with the engine out already. When we put the LS in the white truck, we also swapped the trans for a 4HP24 unit. The green truck that we just started still has the 4HP22.

 

Did you use the transfer case off the 4HP22 and put on the 4HP24 I thought the spline shaft was different

 

No, as far as I know, they are the same in that respect.

 

I'm wondering if we put High flowing race catalytic converters under their will that throw check engine light on the O2 sensors

 

has anyone successfully passed emissions after the swap?
