If the price is good and I have the skills to fab the stuff then it could see a set up like this in my 110

That and something like the 6.2 ls in the 110 would be a ear to ear grin fest

Here is the shaft, took a lot of ciphering to get this right.
Tailshaft from the ZF Transmission turned down and pressed inside a bored out, chopped off 27 spline slip yoke.
Notice the dinky wood lathe in the background.
Shade Trees use what they got....

I debate it every so often, over the IDI I have in the driveway.. by the time I pencil the costs to get the IDI where I want....

and the fact I could tune the LS to be in the "zone" at an rpm that makes sense w/o changing gearing, and how much I enjoyed that engine in my bourbon... it makes sense, as much or more so than the IDI swap.

that, and spring perches for both my Ford mounts for the Ford axles under the Ford frame, and the Landy Mounts to the Landy axles under the Landy frame, match within a 1/2".... I could rationalize the LS, an RTE 4" lift, cutting fenders, HMMV beadlocks, and 39's... with a tame 5.3, or a 6.2.. that would be sex on wheels... QUIET sex on wheels.

And the whole Th to 230 thing wouldn't be needed here, as I would tap a GM bell for my NP435, and run my 1356 t-case.

Hey nice work shade tree. I like the grass roots approach to your conversion.

I've started collecting parts for my Discovery. I went with a 5.0L Explorer which I'll adapt to my R380 transmission.

I'm following your every step and look forward to the end result!

.... so I haven't done anything else these last two days other then read and understand this tread (been home sick).

This one lost me- you are saying that you took the final output shaft from the ZF and chipped it down small enough to weld into a female end of the 27 spline shaft?

Nice!
