How do I make the 99 disco 2 play nice with mechanical diesel swap?

How do I make the 99 disco 2 play nice with mechanical diesel swap?
So I seem to have reached an end to my search for the holy grail of adapters, fitting one of my tdi motors to the wifeys disco 2.
Next up is a mercedes om60x adapter from doomsday diesel. My choice engine is going to be around a 1990 190d om602 turbo diesel, mechanical diesel.
I will use ashcroft or compushift to control the trans but the torque curve between the diesel and 4.0 are so close it may be easier to fool the ecu into thinking the rpms are lower than they actually are and move my shift points a bit. I think using Dakota products my be able to spoof the engine into thinking the v8 never left.
Would anyone with more experience in this than me mind sharing information?
From the tach signal to the o2 sensors, anyone have an idea of what I might need to do?
thanks ahead of time. this rover is pushing coolant out the back of both heads now so I'd rather swap than do heads at this point. Kinda stinks as she runs good other than a slight manifold gasket to down pipe flange leak that keeps the ses light on.

Would it be easier to get a diesel ecu from an automatic discovery 2, compatible with my 99, and fool the diesel ecu unto thinking the merceses diesel is a 300tdi or 200 if that's what they used in 99?
I'm not sure if I'd need the bcu and cluster from same rig or if I can send off my bcu, cluster and newly acquired ecu to a Landy expert to make them all match.

The BHW only came in automatic form in 2004 and 2005. It's a torque monster compared to the very popular 1.9 tdi ALH motor.
It was a north America only production vehicle.
That being said she shares programming and parts with many other mid/late to mid 2000s diesels in NA as well as Europe.
I'm running a BRM intake, all 8v tdi intakes interchange and as far as I know so do the exhaust manifolds. The BRM points my intake forward towards the radiator. Less charge pipes and a littler cleaner engine bay. My engine bay isn't exactly laid out like a well planned city but it's easy to sort and work on for future services.
I had to get a custom tune to delete the immobilizer and tune it for a manual transmission. This is imperative as to both run and keep from Rev hanging between gears. It also has a stage 2 tune programmed into it so she now makes approximately 175 hp and 300 ft lbs torque. This requires no bolt on mods and no hindrance to reliability. There is a factory egt probe that keeps her tamed under heavy throttle should I get too enthusiastic with the skinny pedal.
This would move the disco 2 about like a 4.0 or 300 tdi. I'd put one in the little ladies disco but she can't drive a stick. I have several of these cars at my disposal.
In the future I may build a BHW/nv3550 to lt230 disco on fj80 axles.
This 4runner is being built to daily drive and likely sell if the offer is right. The disco is 100x more comfortable. I'm 40 now, I don't know how well I'm going to like the ride.

I'm still collecting parts here and there. It's lake season so at this point the only diesel I will be playing with on weekends will be the boat. The 4runner is nearly completed other than interior and shake down runs.
the 300d in the background is the donor for the disco. The om602 needs a head gasket. I'll also send the ip off to benze power for upgrades and a more powerful turbo/Fmic set up.
Will have to wait until next winter when boat season is over.
