Default N54 swapped disco 2

Curious if anyone has ever attempted to N54 swap a disco? It seems like a logical swap to me. You wouldn’t need a bell house adapter as the disco and N54 already use the ZF trans. It would be a significant power increase and easily upgradable. I saw a M57 swapped Disco so I know it can be done. Any thoughts?

I think it would be the length of that engine that maybe a problem. with the offset on the passenger side can't see it fitting. I do see the price of used(running) N54 engines have dropped.

I'm starting this project now. We have a donor car and a couple spare engines/trannys laying around the shop. It seems like a doable swap with little effort. To be fair though, swaps and motorsports/fabrication is what we I do though.

yeah, after doing a little more research, it seems the flange pattern is different. It may need an adapter plate. I still think it would be beneficial though and make for a really cool build. I’m a BMW guy though so I’m a little partial haha.

I think it would be fine once you take into consideration the factory fan and shroud. Just run some slim push or pull electric fans.
