Default 1998 freelander non starting issue

hey all

I'm looking at buying a freelander 2.0 diesel and get it at a good price if I can get it started,

the owner informs me the battery went low and the alarm went off, she removed the fuses, left it for a while.

she put in a new battery and went to start it no joy, so had a look at it last night, changed the startermotor and glow plug relay, and tested the glow plugs, still no joy.

theres fuel getting through from what I can see, so is it something I'm missing or is it a worn ECU I wonder?

any ideas would be great.

Hi Patrick, My friend encounters the same problem last month. She also did the replacement starter motor. And it was perfectly working until now. Maybe there is the problem with the ECU but im not perfectly sure.
