Default freelander 1998 diesel poor starting

Hi everyone I have a freelander diesel xdi that takes a long time to start on cold mornings. However it is fine on warm mornings or if it has not been left for very long.
Has anyone else had this problem and found a fix for it.[sm=helpout.gif]

Hello all

This could well be something quite simple.

On a 1998 motor you might want to consider if it has its original battery. Also have the glow plugs been changed yet?

If not, try those as your first plan of attack. If you are a DIY mechanic, probably easiest to just change three of the four glow plugs as the fourth is a bugger to get to!

Cheers
