2004 Freelander V-6 HSE ECM/ECU?

2004 Freelander V-6 HSE ECM/ECU?
When buying another ECU ECM computer I have noticed that a few of the numbers are different from the one I am trying to replace. Other than the numbers 5KW9003 and DMEMS43/KV6, I have found multiple index types, such as Index 06 vs an Index 03. What would I need to verify in order to get the correct ECU/ECM?
We have found that there are a few places inside the ECM that were burnt, so with that information we are thinking that replacing this that the gremlins will go away.
