2005 Freelander ECU reprograming question
Hi everyone.
I've was told by a LR main dealership that my ECU may be on its way out, so I've bought a used unit of Ebay same part number and issue, except its date of manufacture is 2007. So I've no reason to think it is any different to the one in the car vintage 2004.
Having told me that I could do this and they would reprogram to my car they are now telling me that they can't as it has been previously programmed and they can't get over the first security hurdle the firewall.
Can anyone tell me if this is correct or not, or how they get around this.
Thanks in advance
