Default Another Coolant Leak

This is my third post in as many weeks. I love my freelander but its having many issues right now.

I'm loosing coolant hand over fist, this morning I filled the resivoir up to the max line, after driving only 40 miles I lost about an inch of coolant in the resivoir. I can smell coolant and it's dripping out of the bottom of the car. I had the coolant system pressure checked two weeks ago and they said it was fine - I say bull! I guess its a good sign that its leaking onto the ground and not into the engine correct?

Now I am no mechanic, but how would I diagnose something like this myself? I have several pictures I took if this would help. All the hoses I can see seem dry to touch.

Advices please.

Thanks

Im not very good when it comes to engines. So I am not sure what I am looking at or for. When I lived in England we had Haynes manuals and they made life alot easier. Now living state side and in the midwest, Land Rovers are seldom seen or used - I have two! So if you could give me a little direction as to what to do I could let you know.

Thanks

You don't have to take it apart like this, but it's the only engine photo I had on hand. This is taken from the passenger side fender looking toward the motor. Look in the area where I put the red circle (you'll probably need a flashlight), and see if there is coolant sitting on top of the engine block in there. You may get a better view from the driver's side too.

this is truly amazing, some genious locked the cams with a ruler and what appears to be two sticks of wood. isnt it easier to align the marks on the cams and crank and place the cam intake belts on after the main drive belt. I cant wait to show my staff this tommorro. scott
