Default Changed Starter, now no spark

My 05 freelander se quit turning over and was just clicking. Brother in law said it was starter solenoid. He took off starter (tough job) and took starter to local starter repair shop. He took apart solenoid and cleaned contacts. Now starter works great. Put back on would not start. Checked spark plugs, No fire. have voltage to coils but no spark, Checked all fuses found FL1 blown. Replaced FL1 (thats the big 150 amp fusable link). All relays and fuses check good, but no spark. Gotta be the crankshaft sensor or the ecm. Is there a way to check if ecm is OK without taking it to a dealer. Closest dealer is over 100 miles away.

Any ideas would be helpful. OBD2 shows no codes. Hill braking light thing shows amber with exclamation mark.

Thanks
