hey i got an 04 se with an engine tap its hard to say were it is coming from but i was wondering if any one had this problem as well, and or nows wat it is thanks

 

its going to be one of two things... either its your lifters, theyre hydrolic and go bad occasionally, or its not from the engine. they have problems with the intake plenum, its active and has linkage inside it, this linkage goes bad and causes noise that sounds like tapping. unfortunitly, both are pretty expensive repairs. change your oil, use 3 quarts of atf and the rest oil, let it run for a half hour and then change it again. if the noise quiets down or goes away its the lifters. however, if it doesnt, it does not mean that its not the lifters. id give it a shot and see what happens. 50 bucks and an oil change is a lot cheaper then either repair.
