Default Engine Misfire

Question for tacomatech or discomike..... Re: 02 Freelander. Had the engine replaced at 47k on a L/R dealer in Redwood City, Ca .... good thing the extended warranty is still valid till July 2010. Drove this F/L all the way to Vancouver, BC without any problem. Today the mileage clocked at 60k, while driving thru the wet and snowy road did not notice the water and went thru it w/ a giant splash, pass by a store and turned the engine off. While it started again seems like a MISFIRE but not missing, at 2k rpm seems ok also the ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON and I looked at the miles and it is at 60,200k. Do you think this was caused by the water splash or could it be something else. I know it is due for a routine 60k major service which I already made an appt thru a local L/R dealer here in Richmond, BC. Please advice as I really want to know what is causing the misfire. Thank you in advance and Happy New Year!!!
