i new to land rover and was wondering about a upgrade on the engine. i was wondering if there is any other engine that would just bolt up to a 02 freelander. like would a discovery engine fit a 02 freelander? anyone with any suggestions?

 

Not 100% sure, but I don't think anything will without a lot of modifications. Anything is possible with enough money and time.
Depending on where you live you might be able to get away with the diesel/gearbox combo that was used in ROW Freelanders. That would probably be the least problem technically for converting. Legality is another issue.

 

I have been told by a couple of landy mechanics that the V6 Kia mtor is the same except that it will not wear as well.

 

any engine of freelander type cars can be fitted , money required only .
