Exclamation Freelander 2 - frequent HDC fault - not starting

I have a 2009 Freelander and have had frequent issues with HDC fault, resulting in the car not starting. I have changed the key dock as the key wasn’t being received and returned automatically, this meant the ignition was staying on and I thought was draining the battery. This resolved the issue for a couple of weeks. However after this I started the car, and noticed as I started driving the car seemed low on power when trying to accelerate I then parked. Locked the car and then I returned opened the car and when trying to start the car it didn’t turn over and bought a HDC fault up again.

in the last year of having these issues some mechanics have said there is a drain on the battery but can’t locate it? It has been a Land Rover garage and they couldn’t find an issue?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Battery and charging system (alternator) are #1 cause of HDC faults. I would satrt there.

Ditto. Does the resting battery read 12.6 v?
(A resting battery is one that has not been on a charger for 6 hours) That includes the engine not running for 6 hours.
