Default Freelander 2 - P2084/P2031, Exhaust Temp Sensor failure?

Hi Everyone,

I've just joined this site - should have done it a long time ago though.

I really need some advice please, I have a 2010 Freelander 2 SD4. Love the vehicle, but like any Landy it has it's issues, and having owned a Freelander 1 before I expected it!

So I have had the following codes come up and go into limp mode and I want to check if I am on the right track for both the issue and fix.

P2084 - Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit Rang/Performance Bank 1 Sensor 2

I cleared this and the following day got:

P2031 - Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2

Am I right in thinking that these are both related to a failing Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor? If so are there 1 or 2 of these in the Freelander 2 (I'm thinking one before the catalytic convertor and one after) in which case which one is this in Bank 1 Sensor 2?

Finally how tough is this job likely to be? I can get the parts and the time on Saturday, just want to prepare myself mentally for challenge. I've looked through the Freelander 2 manuals and online PDF's etc and there is very little on this.

Thank you to all who read and comment, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Mark.
