Freelander TD4 (2002) bonnet not opening
The battery is not connected (the positive cable was removed to stop the alarm sounding every 5 minutes. Unfortunately I dropped the bonnet/hood, That was unfortunate because the key does not unlock the driver door - no idea why. So I now have 3 problems:
1. I can't open the bonnet because I can't open the vehicle with the key and the transponder won't work because I disconnected the battery!
2. I am pretty sure that the key should open the driver door but it doesn't - does anyone have a fix?
3. The alarm today started - I opened the vehicle, put the key in and started the engine. Switched off and all seemed fine except that every few minutes the alarm goes off again. On entering the vehicle there is a red flashing light on the dash, when I insert the key and turn it that light goes but three warning lights are on: ABS, Hill Decent and Traction Control. Starting the engine makes those lights go.
The cycle keeps repeating, which caused me to disconnect the battery to buy time to investigate. That takes me back to problem 1....
Help!
