Does anyone know how to access the fuel pump and fuel filter on a 2002 Freelander? Is it underneath the back seat?

 

It is under the right rear seat. Easy to access, easy to replace.

 

It was the fuel pump. $540 to order the pump plus $110 for the filter. Soundsa little expensive though!

 

Are you absolutely sure the pump is shot? The dealer often pushes the sales of the entire pump unit with filter as opposed to just replacing the filter which fixes the problem most of the time. If you haven't already ordered the unit and you can afford the time to experiment, try just replacing the filter first.

 

I had to get it done as the car was 100 miles away from home and unfortunately I don't have the time. The mechanic told me that there would be no warranty if we only replace the filter.
