My daughter bought this Freelander a while ago, drove it home, used it a few times, sat for a couple of weeks and wouldn't start. She assumed the battery was dead so she put a trickle charger on overnight.
Everything works except it won't crank over, no clicks, no anything except when turning the key to start the little cooling fan for the ECM can be heard running.
Battery is good, starter is good. I'm assuming it's locked from starting by the alarm system but don't know how to reset it or get around it.
2 button remote to lock/unlock the doors works.

It act's like it's not recognizing the key, although it's the same key that worked previously. We only have one key for it.

It has an aftermarket "TBXKEY Universal passkey bypass with xkey dock" installed but I don't know what this device is for let alone how it works. Googled it but am still confused.

I put a Geniscan GS300 code reader on it and it comes up with "Link error" message.
Instrument cluster doesn't show any "check engine" or similar light
