Thumbs up Hi too all need some help!!!

Hi to all i have just this morning purchased a 2003 Freelander "Masai Mara" 1.8 and it seems to be a really sweet ride.
I have some minor issues firstly the HDC light is Amber, and the T/C light is illuminated on the dashboard,as i understand this is probably due to brakes,so i have looked up a Pad change and it seems straightforward.
Also the drivers side door will not open on the fob all the rest do so need a fix foor this,.
Any general advice will be well recived too.
Mnay thanks in advance

HDC switch’s on older LRF’s have a tendency to lose their connections. Under the gearstick gator (manual) is the switch connector for the HDC, it is highly probable that one of the wires is disconnected or loose. Reconnect these, and you MAY solve at least part of your problems. Of course, it could be the HDC switch itself, so be prepared to test the switch continuity as part of the investigation too. Resetting the ECU may also be worth a look too once any faults have been repaired. HDC only works on 1st gear and reverse and below a set speed. If it has been “on” for a long period of time, the firing mechanism of the HDC onto the wheels, may well be seized due to excessive use or heat. Hope this helps…?
