Default Massive coolant Usage

Hi .... am new in this forum and would like to share with you people my horrible experience w/my 02 freelander se. Bought it w/47k with a new dealer installed engine and with 58k miles now am facing this coolant problem that I have to add everyday at least half a quart of coolant in the morning. Brought it to the LR dealer twice but no luck could not find any leak. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this vehicle?

Could it be leaking into your vehicle and getting soaked up by the carpet, like mine did. It burned out my motor blower fan, which I had to replace. Just a suggestion.

oh ..... the dealer already checked it out and found no problem leak on that side, what they did now is added dye on the coolant so that they could trace where the leak is. Ask me to use the vehicle for a week and bring it back to them. The tech is thinking of intermittent internal coolant leak. Will keep you informed after a week and thanks a lot!

Can anyone advice me when is the time to change the timing belts for an 02 FL? Now I have about 58k on mine, what else do I need to change while doing this? Thank You!

Timing belt gets replaced at 72k. Change plugs and fluids at 60k, but since it got a new engine at 48k, then count the 72k from there for the t-belt. It is very possible that the engine in the vehicle has blown a head gasket or could have a raised sleeve, causing the coolant leak, neither of which are good situations.

Can I use a 5w/30 synthetic on my 02 FL??? I have tried looking to get a 5w/40 but could not find any from the auto part stores in my area.

I would stick to the 5w-40 synthetic as recommended.
