Default Quick KV6 question

Can anyone tell me what this open connection is, and should any hose be attached to it? I've researched to no avail. Location is between the kv6 engine and the battery, dead top, closer to firewall, than front of car. I'm shining the flashlight on it in picture 3 to give an idea of its' location. Thanks all.

It's a vent for the Jatco gearbox. I've not seen one with a hose attached, although it may have had one for the Jaguar or BMW vehicles it was used on. It was probably considered unnecessary as it is at the same approximate height as the IRD vent found on the other side of the engine.

Thank you...
Not knowing what it is, I thought a hose might have become dislodged.
