Hi, my freelander is starting to annoy me!! The rear seats both worked fine, but about a month or so the double seat folded down, but now won't go all the way up again.....the base goes down & locks in fine....but the back won't go up. From what I can see the cable appears to have broken. I'll be damned if I can work out how to get to it!? I've got the back fabric off, but beyond that I'm clueless I'm usually capable of fixing things like tis (have fixed door handle cables before)
Can anyone tell me how to get to the cable please please please!! (Keep it simple, I don't do car techie talk!!)

I've got the opposite problem in my '03 Freelander SE: I can't get the larger seat to go down--the cable "ball end" disconnected from the plastic release mechanism on the back of the chair, or the plastic broke; either way, it's broken.
