hello can anyone help , I've a freelander 1 and the radio code needs re-setting ,
Problems, 1/ no code with the manual's 2/ no serial number on the radio ( been scratched off with removal by someone else)
So is there a procedure to clear the code & leave it without needing the code , or setting new code PLEASE...

 

do you know if this is the original radio that came with the vehicle ??....my guess is that it isnt because the s/n has been removed....if it were original you could contact LR customer service and they will help.....in this case ...I dont know if they CAN help...you may be stuck with getting an aftermarket radio installed....or a used Rover unit with a S/N and hopefully a code....let us know how it goes

Seems like a few people have had problems with the radio after battery disconnection . My batttery has been off and after looking for the code to put the radio back on I found a number written on the back . After trying this number in several configurations my radio now displays LOCKED . Seems the number we found was nothing to do with the radio but since then I have the code number from a note between the manual pages .
How do I get the LOCKED message off so that I can enter the code .

A little late to help you Martin, but for anyone coming across this through Google as I did, the LOCKED message is displayed for a fix amount of time (usually 1 hour) that on some models increases with more incorrect attempts.
