Default S-reg Freelander Sunroof problem

Hi there!

I have searched on sunroofs but didn't come up with anything relevant. Recently, the tilt and slide sunroof has got stuck in the tilt position. The motor makes a buzzing sound but I can get the sunroof to go back (i.e. more open in the tilt position) but not to close...I have takne the car to Harwoods in Coulsdon, Surrey - who tell me it is definitely the motor that has gone and that it will be £245 fitted for a new one. My question is does this sound like a fair price? How likely is it that it is the motor if the sunroof does move to a point?

Also, the plastic back of the wing mirror was damaged a few weeks ago and it has fallen off. Harwoods tell me that the only way to fix it would be to buy a whole new mirror which I think they said would cost around £110 fitted (not sure if it incl VAT).

Does this sound like a fair cost for each of these? Is it true you can't get a plastic backing for the mirror? I have an older Porsche 911 and I go to independents because the official Porsche Centres charge £100+ per hour...are the independent specialists for Landrovers and of so does anyone know one in the sort of Croydon/London area?

Thanks in advance....!

if you are mechanicly inclined and have a few tools you can buy the motor and put it in your self. you just have to buy the motor and the clip for the sproket. and to your other question yes you have to buy the whole mirror to get that piece. if you have any questions about putting it in yourself let me know.
