Default Solution to broken clips on PCV tube

The red retaining clips for the PCV tube on my '04 Freelander had broken and I have been looking for a solution besides replacing the whole thing.
After some googling and digging I found that Home Depot and Ace Hardware sell push connect plumbing fittings, and that the 1/2" fittings fit perfectly on the PCV tube. So for like $5.20 I got a double ended connector, popped out the clips on both ends, and popped them into place on my valve covers.
Sadly the 3/8" is too big and the 5/16" is too small for the vacuum fitting, but I'll keep looking for a metric version so maybe I can find those new as well. (Or I'll just stick to pulling them out of the junkyard)

$5.20 at Home Depot

The new clips popped out next to the old broken clip.

Fits beautifully!

Just like new!
