Default Window winder

My first post! I have a 2004 Freelander and recently the rear RHS window winder packed up. Instead of buying a new or even a used winder assembly I got a repair kit on ebay. Luckily the ebay page contained links to a Youtube video that showed how to connect all the bits and how to wind the wire around the spool. The video was good but there was no comentary which made it harder. However, I got it done and fitted it back in the door. All good. The window now goes up and down BUT it doesn't go down all the way. Is this how it is supposed to be? I can't check with the LHS rear because that doesn't work at all - as if there's no power. That's next on my list. I more curious as to whether the window should stop 100mm or so from the bottom or is it how much wire was wound on the spool? Any help would be most welcome.

If I recall correctly the rear windows on the freeloader only go down like 2/3rds of the way.
