Default 03 RR- Camshaft position fault - help

About 6000 miles ago I had a Check Engine Light fault - "Camshaft position - Sensor A Bank 1 - Circuit response high" . I erased the code and now 5 months later its back. I reset this twice, but now it comes on and seems here to stay. No other performance issues with the engine that I notice.

Can anyone tell me what this means and possible solutions?

Thanks
Bob

I believe it means that the voltage signal from the cam position sensor to the engine ecu is higher than specified tolerances. Bank 1 is the bank on the right side as viewed from sitting in the driver's seat. The sensor is located on the front cylinder head. Check the wiring for corrosion, open/cut wires, and the like. Without being able to watch realtime display of the sensor reading, it is hard to diagnose. You could have a slack timing chain, faulty sensor or wiring issue. I would consider taking it in.
