Default 03 RR repair work

Hey everyone, I'm a new member. I have a 2003 Range Rover with just under 60K. I have had it for about 6 months and so far I've needed to fix the suspension, oil filter housing, gas cap and now they're telling me I need a new transmission and about 1000 in new coolant hoses. Is this standard for RRs? It just seems odd to me that I need all this work done so soon. I've driven Explorers for the past 8 years and I've never had this many issues.

Just wondering. Thanks!

First thing you will learn is that Rover dealers think/hope that you are as dumb as a rock.
What is your tranny doing?? Forget about coolant hoses, Rover made some pretty good hoses and unless yours are swelling or or are hard as rocks, leave them along for the next couple of years.
I am a retires service manager and would like to hear more about your tranny.
Call me and lets walk thru this.

Thanks for the reply Mike. You're right and given the fact I'm a female that goes to the service department alone I'm sure they see dollar signs. I know they make their money on the back end especially with used vehicles but it's hard to know what to take seriously and what not. Plus, I'm to the Los Angeles area in general so I don't have a network of shops to get second opinions from. Anyway, I'll definitely be giving you a call. Thanks again!

Istayfocused .....dealerships = stealerships. They will rob you blind. You're lucky in that you're in LA. There are numerous independent Land Rover mechanics all over the LA area so find a good one soon and use them to diagnose your repair issues (or lack there of repair issues). Maybe someone on this site can chirp in and refer you to a good one in your area. If not, do asearch online. You will literally save thousands of dollars over the long haul. Good luck.

Give me a call and I'll line you up with a lady that knows most of the better shops in your area.
