As part of the deal get them to throw in extended warranty and a new battery. You would think they were made by ADT (always dang trouble with any darn thing all the damn time).

Be sure they include two working remote keys.

Stay away from the after market warranty. Total waste of money. They will deny every claim you put in. It never fails with any of these extended warranty companies.

Extended warranties are good, as long as you get the right one. There are a lot of warranties out there that will deny most claims, but from the right companies, they will pay for themselves quickly. There's another thread on this right now in the same section.
As far as the truck itself, make sure the nav and bluetooth are both working propery before you buy it, water likes to find those components.
Check for suspension noises over bumps and rough patches at slower speeds, from the front end.
If you're able, get underneath the car, not a tight squeeze if you raise the suspension up, and I'm a bigger guy, take a look at the rear of the transmission pan, see if it's wet from fluid leaking.
Most other issues are pretty much maintance, or stuff that fails with no real prior indicator before it does.

When these cars go back to the service department for reconditioning, the techs do a good job at finding most of the faults (if any), however, what the sales department is actually willing to fix is another story. Got to look out for your investment.

Test drive it and listen for unusual noises, especially drive train.

Make sure you run the suspension up and down a few times as well.
