Default 1996 4.6 AC/Heater Blowers not working

After checking the usual suspects, fuses. relays still no joy. It started with the blowers working on all speeds but even on HIGH it would only blow about half at what it use to. Replaced the servo motors, not cheap and still only half speed though the fans were runing on high, then the fans quit completely. Now all the lights come on but no bodies home. No blowers at all. Help me OB 1 Can`t find the droid I`m looking for.

It sounds like the blower motors have given up. They should have also maybe given you some idea by running slower or maybe even a noise in the motors where it was rattling. I know mine are on the way out since it does not work on high all the time. I think you may just need to replace them, it would have cheaper than the servos unless they needed help as well.

I think there are two motors. It seems highly unlikely that both would fail at exactly the same time. It sounds to me that whatever controls the fans may have failed, like maybe a reostat or a bad connection. Do you have voltage at the motors?

I am willing ot bet that only one was working to begin with and that was the one he could hear. Even for me it is hard to hear the passenger one unless I am over there and that is hardly ever.

Hawaii did you find out anything else on this?
