Default 1997 4.6 HSE issues

Hey everyone!! I have been snooping around this board for a couple days now and didn't find my answers......

I just purchased a 1997 RR 4.6 HSE with 108k on it. First things first, what should I be looking out for/changing/fixing at this mileage?

My current issues -
I swapped out batteries and now my LF window won't set....tired it numerous times to no avail....any help??

Also, the EAS MANUAL light comes on everytime I start the truck. The truck rides like a dream, but I don't like things being wrong with my vehicles. I checked the fuses and everything seemed normal until I came across a missing "relay" (?) under the hood. The owners manual calls it MAXI 2. Where the relay is supposed to be placed, it has the inscription of RL20 on the fuse panel......its missing and I am not sure if that was the problem.

Lastly, the air suspension touch keys on the dash don't light up......The compressor kicks on when I start the truck and I can sometimes hear it as I am driving, so I am at a loss on this one!

I appreciate your help in advance!!
Colin

Welcome Colin. It sounds to me that your truck had it air suspension converted to springs. If so, you will get the EAS Manual sign, your buttons won't illuminate, relay is pulled. I would guess that the compressor noise you hear is your ABS pump/actuator, not the air compressor for your EAS.

As for the window, I have no advice other than to follow the steps outlined in the manual. It took me a few times for the windows/sunroof to set.

Good luck.

Everything is working great now....except the EAS, but I did look and I do have coil springs instead of the air ride!

Thanks for your help on that issue....

Anything I should be looking out for being that it has 108k on it?

For some reason my lf window and my sunroof were not set. I called the dealer and they told me to wind down the window and immediately wind it back up and that reset the window, but I have no idea how to reset the sunroof, were you able to reset the sunroof?

Hi There Colin - I have managed to set my sun roof two or three times this year and now I can't set it at all. I think what it maybe it is, the resistance against the motor caused by dirt or lack of lubrication tells it to cancel. I have had the one touch working nicely but then it decides to goesquater way then stops, then tells me it is not set.
I am having to replace my headlinder over the next few months so I will have the chance to dismantle everything then.
Keep in touch -Good luck
