Default 1998 range rover - lightning strike ?

(should say "1997 not 1998" )It would seem that after a serious lightning storm that the security system disabled my range rover. I have disconnected the battery and have re-installed and the lights are flashing. If I remember correctly, the system can be reset with the Key......anyone know the procedures ????

You need the EKA access code. And then you need to turn the key in the door key hole, however many times right or left, I forget which one you start with, based on the value of the first number. Then you turn your key the opposite direction doing it the number of times that the second number specifies. If you don't have your code, the default code is 1515. Where are you located? Some security systems were designed differently in different countries.

I don't have the ability to do that, nor know how... lol. Fabbrojo, check your owners manual. I have a card in mine that states it's code. You COULD have your BECM reset by a shop that can work on them. They will usually unlock the BECM and reset the code to 1515.

was it actually struck by lightning. If it was its an insurance matter and whatever is found will be paid by them. Last few I have had to deal with involved lots of time spent diagnosing it.
