Default 1999 Range Rover Brake Pad Replacement

Hey guys,

My RR is out of commission while I am waiting on an alternator to be shipped so I thought I would take thedown time to replace my front brake pads which were getting a little low. I have remove the caliper and removed the old pads and refitted the new ones but trying to pry the calipers open in order to remount is impossible. This is the first time I have replaced them myself but have done many other maintenance procedures and just replaced pads on my BMW which only took a little force to open the calliper large enough to refit. Is there a trick, something I am not doing or does it simply take some elbow grease and muscle to force them open enough to refit?

Thanks in advance,
Michael

You need to either bleed the brakes or open the brake fluid reservoir to allow the pistons to go back in.
