Default 2000 P38 Starting Issues

2000 4.0 Will Not Start. I think it is security related but here are the issues related.

New starter and ignition switch, including new key fob. Had not been using the key fob before.

Recently installed a new driver's door latch as the locks were locking and unlocking themselves.

When I remove the key, I get a message telling me the ignition key is still in. This happened with the old ignition switch too.

When I lock the doors now I see the lights flash. This was not happening with the old ignition switch, probably because I was not using the key fob.

Sometimes the ABS and TC control(and the thirds light with these 2) light up when I step on the brakes. Brakes and everything work fine.

Occasionally I get a random traction control error.

I feel like this is either the display panel/gauges or the becm and some ecus. It's got to be some sort of electrical gremlin/computer issue.

I've checked relays and fuses as well as the starter wire. My mechanic hooked up a bypass starter switch which will allow me to start and run the car. Unfortunately, the EAS doen't power up so it is a harsh ride.

Thoughts?

Thank you and FYI I love my Rover. I'm getting frustrated but I'm not ready to walk away and can't afford a new one yet.

The lights flashing when you lock the rig are normal. Mine does it each time I lock it using the remote or manually.

Usually when its an immobilizer issue, it will tell you in the instrument cluster. It will say stuff like "engine disabled" "enter eka access code" etc.

The ABS and TC lights will do that when an accumulator is failing, or when the pump is operating on battery power only, and doesn't have enough power on a low battery to pump it up all the way. The traction control error will usually appear when you are trying to start the engine on a low battery, or make repeat attempts to start it.

Does the engine spin/crank when you turn the key? Or does it do nothing. Also, do you hear any clicks when you try to engage it?

If it does not crank, try jumping pins 30 and 87 where the starter relay is.

The engine does not crank when I turn the key. I do hear the relays clicking.

I do not get any messages on the dash about immobilization.

I'll try jumping the pins. Thank you.

Default It was a fuse

Turns out all I needed was a 40 amp fuse. Not sure how we missed that having pulled all fuses twice. Happily we're starting just fine. I'm replacing the o-ring in the accumulator this weekend.
