Default 2000MY Audio issue

I have a 2000MY Vogue with the Premium ICE system which includes to the informed a Harman Kardon Digital Signal Processor (DSP) LR part no: XQK100340 not the door amps from '99 and prior.

The problem: It seems that when the volume **** is turned up on the Alpine HU (XQD101550LNF) the FRONT speakers do not increase in volume.
If I put the HU into front fade F9 and rear F0 and increase volume nothing happens on the front until the vol goes near max and then the rears and the sub increase in volume???
It's NOT anything to do with muting of the fronts as I have tested that.
Part of me thinks that the system is built this way but I don't think so.
I need another 2000MY to compare to so if anyone out there has one can you please help.

Default RE: 2000MY Audio issue

Update:

If anyone has an '01 or '02 RR HSE or Vogue or VogueSE with the premium system then this is the same as mine.
You could have the slightly upgraded speaker system with the speaker on the top centre dash but the DSP and main system is the same.

1. In normal mode: Is the sound rich and FULL in the front and similar to the rear?

Can you please just give your stereo a quick test. Fade the FRONT speakers to F9 and then increase the volume slowly.

2. Does the front speaks get louder?
3. Or does nothing happen until you get to near full volume and the rears then increase and the sub also?

Thanks in advance.

Hello. I saw your post regarding your front and rear stereo problem. I also have a 2000 HSE with a verysimilar problem, only it is a Left and Right balanceproblem. The volume on the left side is faint compared to the right side. I was wondering if you found any information that might be helpful to me, or how you fixed it?

Thank you for any help you can provide!
