2003 HSE $15000 95k miles good price or keep looking?
I sold my '02 Rover back in September and got a 2001 BMW M5.I think it's the one of the best cars ever made and offers the best driving experience money can buy, but it has cost more than twice as much to keep up this Bimmer asthe Rovercost me in a year. The headaches don't stop with this vehicle I've had for only 3 months, and all the problems have arisen during that time of ownership because I got a PPI before I bought it with 80k miles. I've been looking at '04 model Roverswith around 70 and 75k miles, but this just seems like apretty gooddeal even if I were to add the warranty. It's a 2003 Range Rover 95k miles, well kept interior and exterior, no error messages, no pixels out, but I haven't gotten an inspection performed yet. $15000. Thoughts???
Pretty high mileage but the price is really good. I would probably go for it if I were in the market and it was pretty flawless mechanically and cosmetically. Keep in mind an '03 Rover will probably have more problems then you had with an '02. The early MKIIIs had quite a few problems but seeing as you already had a Rover you are probably used to some of the quirks etc and know what to look for.
I have never understood people saying Rover's are insanely expensive to maintain. Are costs higher then some manufacturers? Sure, a toyota is gonna be cheaper. But out of the BMW, Mercedes, Maseratis, a Suzuki (don't ask), and RR's i've owned the RR was cheaper in every case except the Suzuki.
That said. I would go for it expecting some problems and quirks and not expecting it to work as well as you're old P38. Let us know what you decide.

I had the 2000 R/R it was bullet proof...the early03 I have currently since new had it's first year quirks but now at 50K only major service has been new front air/sup, lower front stab/bush and a coolant gallery replacement.... not bad for someone who drives hard. It would be a better buy ifthe 03had it's shed/maint well documented along with all other servicerecords.
I'd keep looking. Especially if this is supposed to be a daily driver. Price point aside, 100k miles is a lot on a Rover of any type and you don't have
to be told the maintenance issues that you'll face from now on. Considering new one's are at $60k now and low mile ones under warranty even
much less - this truly is a buyer's market for high end cars - but that's a lot of miles. Sure, you might be one of the lucky one's but I've had these since 87 of all flavors and varieties - still have 5 - and owning one out of warranty is unbearable. Most of us know that even them being
under warranty is a big enough problem just due to downtime and dealer run arounds. You get a "keep looking" vote from me...

Definitely keep looking. Both my local dealership and my independent mechanic discouraged me from buying 03 and 04 models due to the teething problems. They also said transmissions have a tendency to go between 70-100K. Your best bet is to either find a mint 2002 P38 or wait until you can step up to an 05 HSE.
