Dealership Service: Do They Consider Where You Bought Your Car?
Do you think the service department at a dealership considers where you bought your car when they put together your invoice? In other words, do you think that you are more likely to get ripped off when having service performed at Land Rover X when you bought the car from Land Rover Y?
This applies more to out of warranty service.

Worked at a Porsche Audi dealership for 10 years and wasn't a concern to us. In this economy especially I would think they would be happy to try to earn your business FWIF.
The service department at my local dealership (Land Rover Glen Cove) is incredibly miserable. They treat you like a second class citizen if you bought your vehicle somewhere else. They also decline to give you a loaner car. I was told "If you go back to Land Rover Rockville (MD), they'll give you a loaner car." Pretty preposterous and arrogant if you ask me. I would think I would & should be given preferential treatment if anything, since my car is out of warranty and I'm paying full price for all repairs. One thing is for sure, when it's time to replace my 2000 4.6 HSE, they won't be getting my hard earned dollars.

The Rover dealership in Vancouver is very good (so far anyhow). Though, their Porsche dealership under the same umbrella is a disaster.
I'm going to say it has everything to do with the management.
