2003 range rover ignition fault

2003 range rover ignition fault
I have a friend who has a 2003 Range Rover,. Her problem seems to be if she removes the ignition key the battery has a drain however if she leaves the key in the ignition after shutting the engine off there is no drain on the battery. Anyone know anything about this issue?
