Default 2004 Range Rover HSE won't start

I tried starting my 2004 range rover hse last week, it didn't start. There was no noise coming from the starter. After few tries i heard one click sound. I never had a problem with the starting before. I checked all the fuses, the battery is new and i could tell it wasn't from the battary. I decided to take the starter out. I removed the cover which was over the starter. I decided to give it a last try before i take the starter out. To my surprise it started. The first few starts sounded wird but then just started fine. I tried since then it starts just fine, but i am afraid to drive the car since it might do it again an with hot weather in California i don't want to be stock on the road. I also want to add that while i took the cover the out i did touch the wire that goes to the starter. Could it be weak connection?

The relay or starter could be going bad. I would replace the relay since its cheap and see if the problem continues. It could be a weak connection like you said, but generally it will at least try to start vs. just one click. One click screams relay to me...

Good question, refer to your owner's manual lol. Sorry don't know where it is on the L322. On mine it is with the fuses in the engine compartment.

I checked the owner manual it says only dealer is authorized to replays the relays. there are few relays but doesn't say what it is for.

You might find downloading this to be beneficial: http://www.yourwebdesigns.com/rave02.iso

Its the service manual for your rover. The P38 is in there too I believe. It might take some digging, but anything you need to know about the rover is in there. You will have to burn it to a disc. Please hurry with the download, they are shutting down this server in a couple of days. Once its gone its gone.
