Default 2006/7 Range Rover Performance

I am considering a new Range Rover HSE (2006, or 2007) and would like to know from people who own or have driven the non supercharged model, whether they find the performance (acceleration from stop, highway passing) acceptable of whether they would have purchased the supercharged version instead. I apprecaite that more power is always attractive, but the non supercharged model is more in keeping with my budget. My local dealer is low on stock (only supercharged 2006 models remain), so a test drive at this point is not possible.

Thank you for your opinions,

Grover

Grover I just bought a supercharged 07 to be picked up today. the first time I drove the SC version I had 4 other people in the car(1 child) and didn't think the performance was much better than the HSE but I drove it again with 2 men (me and sales guy) and there is good power and performance improvement. depends what you want. I thought the HSE was ok but not fast. my wife wanted the luxury package and they all come with the bigger wheels at my dealer (the upgraded wheels on the HSE at $4K are not the same as the supercharged wheels) so the price of the HSE was getting close to SC so I just said WTF> good luck.

Grover I finally got the new 2007 supercharged vehicle yesterday adnd have had a little more seat time. the suspension is a little firmer than the HSE but the torque of the supercharged model really gives better throttle response. I say go for the supercharged if you can swing it. good luck again

Grover,
What do you plan to use the truck for, if off roading, are you thinking you need the extra power?

doeboy, great info. on the 2007. I am looking to test drive and hopefully purchase in the near future. So far I love the way they look and can't wait to get behind the wheel. Do you know if there are many differences from the 2006?
