Default 2006 range rover transmission failure

Hi I have a little problem with my range last night i parked my car in my driveway and had been cleaning my car while listening to music and after an hour or two i tryed turning on my car. I hit the start button and the dash lights up like a Christmas tree. Right away I got a HDC message telling me the system was unavailable, I got the Transmission Fault and Traction Reduced message again and i got the light of the little picture of the green mountain with the word low on it flashing. I never had any problems like this before but all of the sudden everything is on and the car now changes gears funny. I dont know if Im parranoid or its actually changing gears weird. the car has 82,000 miles. please help me out I heard of some other people having the same problem and mentioned that the dealer told them must be some kinda battery problem or something.Thanks.

charge the battery and have it checked. Letting the battery drain down with lights and music on causes temporary things to happen. But once the vehicle battery is charged you are fine. Just start and let it run and then turn it off again. That will clear the lights. The codes will be there but don't worry it won't cause a problem to an experienced land rover tech.

Did you charge the battery like Rovin4life said?

well i left the car on for 10-15, so I think the altenator probably has done its job, but no I have not attached something to the battery to try to recharge the battery.

i disconnected the negetive from the battery and I reconnected it and recharged my battery with my other car using a jumpers cable and still no change. The damn lights are still coming on. Does anyone know if I have transmission problems or its just a glitch with fuses or chips or something.

Update to all the people who are having the same problem. My problem was due to a low voltage and when they re-set my computer system and updated all of my software my car was back to normal. The computer at first showed that something with the rear deferential was not working properly and the dealership told me that it needs to be changed but when my computer system was updated and re-set, the problem was a false read. So if your dealership tells you to change it first update the system and if after it still tells you that you got a problem then change it. This cost me $145 at Land Rover Dealership.

if the rear diff code 186d pops on then a reflash only delays the inevitable. The motor on the rear diff will go bad and cause the light to come back on.
