Default 2008-2009 Range Rover Sport, buying advice

I'm from NW Alabama and going to be (hopefully) finding my first rover this weekend. I've been looking at a 2004 Discovery with 84k miles and is in near mint condition. We've been debating spending more money for something newer and less miles bc this is a vehicle we intend to keep long term. I've run across 3 2008 RR Sports and 1 2009. I love the look, luxury, etc. What I'm concerned with is the amount of electrical components in a newer vehicle, and bc this is my first rover. All the vehicles are 5hrs away from home and after a string of bad buying experiences im worried about buyin one and having major problems before I get home or soon there after. All of them have approx 50k miles and are in the $19-22k price range. So long question short, go with the older model disco or take the plunge on a new to me RR Sport?

I plan to check for codes, make sure all electrical components are in good shape, test the air suspension, all that good stuff. I know any used vehicle can be great for a week and then have problems by luck of the draw, just trying to be careful and make an informed decision. My primary need for the vehicle is a short work commute, 5 miles, road trips, 85% highway/city time, towing a small bass boat occasionally, and maybe some very mild offroading, primarily just inclement weather driving.
