Hello, this is my first post but Ive been lurking for a while, just picking up tips for some time now and I'v finally found something I cannot seem to shake.

I have a 2009 RRS SC and my nav screen shows the "Navigation not fitted" message. Ive run through the gamut of could be's

- unplugged the battery for 30 minutes, no fix
- replaced battery with a brand new one, no fix
- pulled the plugs from the nav unit under the seat and replugged, no fix
- pulled the center console to check connectors, unplugged and replugged, no fix
- checked all infotainment fuses in dash, no fix
- purchased another dvd nav reader and plugged it in, no fix

I finally ran a vehicle diagnostics via the nav screen and found that it is throwing a fault code " U1A0087 MMM Private CAN Timeout " and I am stumped. the manual says its a comms issue but thats all. Took it to Land rover and they wanted 2500 to replace the dvd reader (which i had already done to no avail) anyone have any light they might be able to shed on this issue?
