Default 4.6 HSE Steering Shake

Hey gang,
Sometimes at approximately 60 MPH, the steering wheel of my 2000 4.6 HSE starts shimmying and shaking pretty badly. I had an alignment and the tires remounted and rebalanced, but this did not seem to remedy the problem. It doesn't happen all the time, just sporadically. And itusually doesn't last very long. What could be the culprit here?

Much thanks.

I would definitely check your U joints. Get underneath the truck and grab a hold of the drive shafts and shake. There should be 0 movement. See what yours do and let us know.
