Default 90 RR Country- Noisy Transfer case

Oh boy.... Noticed some ticking coming from the underside of vehicle; had the transfer case oil changed, it didn't quiet the noise..

What am I looking at, best and worst case scenario...?

What do you mean by "ticking noise"? Give us the conditions under which you hear the noise (gets faster with speed, noise is present even at idle and at a stop, etc.) What makes you suspect the transfer case?

regards,
Geoman

Noise is only present when vehicle is moving, even coasting... Doesn't seem present in reverse; seems to get more noisy as the vehicle is run longer... The sound is more like "sst, sst, sst, sst" continously from directly below the High-Low selector...

Sounds like you need to get the vehicle on a rack with someone in the drivers seat, and have them run it up in gear while a mechanic checks it out. It could just be something rubbing on the output shafts like a piece of insulation that dropped, cable, speed transducer, etc.

Let us know what you find out
